KATHMANDU: Agitating petroleum tanker drivers have withdrawn their protest.

In a tripartite meeting between the Nepal Petroleum Tanker Drivers Association, Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, the representatives of the association agreed to withdraw their protest, according to Manoj Kumar Thakur, the spokesperson for the NOC.

“Petroleum tankers will start receiving supplies from our depot within an hour,” Thakur said. “NOC has agreed to address some of the demands of the agitating tanker drivers.”

According to Thakur, a committee has been formed to study the demands made by the tanker drivers. “We will address the demands based on the report submitted by the committee,” Thakur added.

Long queues had formed at petrol pumps in the Kathmandu Valley after tanker drivers stopped supplying fuel to fuel pumps.
