KATHMANDU: In an effort to regulate excessive parking fees charged at various locations in Kathmandu, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has established fixed rates for vehicle parking.
Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol announced that the parking fees have been set at Rs 25 per hour for two-wheelers and Rs 75 per hour for four-wheelers. “We have implemented these fixed parking fees to ensure consistency across KMC and in response to the long-standing demands from local residents for uniformity in parking fees,” said Dangol.
According to KMC, two-wheelers will be charged Rs 15 for parking up to half an hour. “After the first hour, two-wheelers will need to pay an additional Rs 5 for every 15 minutes thereafter,” she added.
For four-wheelers, the parking fee will be Rs 40 for half an hour. Similarly, owners of four-wheelers will be charged Rs 15 for every 15 minutes after the first hour.
