Pakistani team coming to Nepal for yoga, meditation

KATHMANDU: A team from Pakistan is visiting Nepal to study yoga and meditation.

According to the Nepali Ambassador to Pakistan, Tapas Adhikari, a team of at least 100 members will visit Nepal soon for yoga and meditation.

The Nepali Embassy in Islamabad organized a training program on ‘Vipassana: Stress Management and Inner Peace for a Better World’ on March 8, International Women’s Day. Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Adhikari said imprints of Vipassana and meditation have been found at archaeological sites in Takht-i-Bahi and Taxila.

Likewise, Khageshwar Aryal, a Vipassana trainer, said yoga and meditation that Nepal has been practicing as a tradition for a long time can be beneficial for all.

Pakistani government officials, business persons, yoga instructors, and users, among others, were present at the event, according to the Nepali embassy.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, emphasized the importance of yoga and meditation while addressing the staff of the foreign ministry few days ago.
