Pak mission celebrates defense and martyrs day in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Pakistan hosted a reception in Kathmandu on Friday to commemorate ‘Defence and Martyrs Day of Pakistan’.

Officiating Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel, senior Nepali military and civil officials, ambassadors, retired senior army officers, academia, members of the diplomatic corps, defense attachés, UN agencies, media personnel and members of the Pakistani community attended the reception, according to a statement issued by the Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu.

Speaking on the occasion, Officiating CoAS Sigdel said that Nepal and Pakistan enjoy multifaceted bilateral relations including economic, commercial, education, technical assistance as well as military.

Likewise, Pakistani ambassador to Nepal, Abrar H Hashmi, highlighted the significance of the day and paid rich tributes to the sacrifices of armed forces, law enforcement agencies and Pakistani citizens who laid down their lives to protect the motherland.

Similarly, Col Muhammad Ali Alvi, Defence Attaché, shed light on the importance of the day and the contribution of Pakistan Armed Forces & law enforcement agencies for the defense of Pakistan and global peace.
