
KATHMANDU: Inspector General Basanta Bahadur Kunwar conferred insignias on 72 out of 75 police personnel who were promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) from Inspector amid a ceremony at the Nepal Police headquarters on Sunday.
A total of 75 inspectors were promoted to the rank of DSP by a secretary-level decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs on February 14. Two of these are currently in the UN peacekeeping mission, while one is in a foreign country for training, according to a statement issued by the Nepal Police.
Speaking on the occasion, Inspector General Kunwar congratulated the newly promoted police officers and wished them a successful tenure. Stating that promotion comes with increased responsibilities and duties, he directed the new DSPs to rise above personal benefits and interests, and perform their duties with utmost dedication and commitment in a united manner.
