KATHMANDU: Chief Whip of Nepali Congress (NC) Ramesh Lekhak stated that the party has entered a new phase of polarization.
Speaking at an event in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Lekhak said that the central working committee meeting of the party has not only conveyed a new message within the party but also to other political parties.
For the first time in its history, NC live-streamed its central working committee proceedings.
Commenting on the statements made by members of the party’s central working committee, Lekhak said, “Many changes were observed during the meeting. Changes are a natural part of any process. We have entered a new phase of polarization.”
The central working committee meeting saw some leaders, particularly the two general secretaries, urging for a leadership transformation to revitalize the party.
The ongoing central working committee meeting of NC, which commenced last Tuesday, will conclude on Wednesday. The party will officially announce the decisions made during the meeting.
Meanwhile, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba has called for a meeting of party office-bearers at his residence in Dhumbarahi at 4 pm on Tuesday to prepare for the decisions.
