New APF Nepal IG assumes office

KATHMANDU: Newly-appointed Inspector General (IG) of the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal, Narayan Dutta Poudel, assumed office at the APF Nepal Headquarters in Halchok on Monday.

Addressing high-ranking APF Nepal on the occasion, he expressed high respect for the dedication, sacrifice, professionalism, and commitment demonstrated by his predecessors. He urged all APF Nepal personnel to remain devoted to their duties by following the path shown by the martyrs and to work with firm resolve for the organisation’s growth.

On the occasion, IG Poudel laid a wreath at the Armed Police Martyrs’ Memorial located at the APF Headquarters in Halchok to pay tributes to fallen personnel. Earlier, a unit of APF Nepal presented a guard of honour in his honour.

“Discipline, chain of command, and institutional integrity are the cornerstones of the organisation. I will adopt a policy of zero tolerance toward unprofessional conduct, corruption, and external interference,” he added.

Paudel also said the organization would implement the principles of reward and punishment in a fair, transparent, and effective manner without compromising organisational interests and professionalism.

He also directed personnel to remain prepared for disaster response during the monsoon season, including floods, landslides, earthquakes, avalanches, and rescue operations in remote areas. Senior APF officials and personnel of all ranks were present at the ceremony.
