New alliance of nine left parties to be named Nepali Communist Party

KATHMANDU: The new political party formed after the merger of nine political parties, including CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (Unified Socialist), will be called Nepali Communist Party (NCP).

The party will use a five-pointed red star as its election symbol.

A meeting of the General Convention Organizing Committee of the Maoist Center held in Kathmandu on Tuesday approved the name and election symbol of the party.

Committee coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal informed the committee members about the name and election symbol of the unified party.
