Nepse up 9.44 points; shares worth Rs 2.59 billion traded

KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index increased by 9.44 points, closing trading at 2,085.71 points on Tuesday.

This marks the second consecutive day of gains on the exchange. Daily turnover also improved slightly to Rs 2.59 billion compared to Rs 2.37 billion on Tuesday.

Share prices of 181 companies advanced, while 57 fell, and nine remained unchanged on the day. Himalayan Reinsurance Company Ltd recorded the highest turnover of Rs 337.60 million on Tuesday, followed by Mountain Energy Nepal Limited and Nepal Reinsurance Company Ltd. with turnovers of Rs 166.55 million and Rs 87.46 million, respectively.

Among trading groups, the Others and Trading sub-indices saw nominal gains, while all other trading groups ended the day in positive territory. The largest gain came from the Manufacturing & Processing sub-index, which increased by 1.08%. Non-life Insurance and Development Bank sub-indices were up by 1.07% and 0.86%, respectively.
