
KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) gained 25.07 points, closing trading at 2,678.17 points on Tuesday.
Building on Monday’s gain, the benchmark index marched on a green trajectory right after trading began on Tuesday morning. Although the market lost momentum twice, it climbed to an intra-day high of 2,683.25 points before coming down slightly to end the session 0.94% higher.
Share prices of 196 companies advanced during the session, while 52 declined. Hydroelectricity Investment and Development Company (Promoter) logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 584.95 million worth of shares traded. Next were Arun Kabeli Power Ltd and Radhi Bidyut Company Ltd with turnovers of Rs 531.35 million and Rs 465.66 million, respectively.
All trading groups posted gains on Tuesday. The Finance sub-index posted a massive gain of 5.12%. Next were Hotels & Tourism and Non-life Insurance sub-indices with gains of 1.64% and 1.34%.
Total turnover increased to Rs 10.16 billion with 23.69 million units of shares traded through 81,738 transactions.
