
KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) stretched its losing run into a fifth straight session on Monday, closing 9.62 points lower at 2,610.76 points.
This marks the longest losing streak in the benchmark index since March 24, when the market snapped a six-day losing run. The index has shed 50.84 points over the past five sessions.
Unit prices of 159 scrips declined during the session, while 86 advanced and one remained unchanged. Radhi Bidyut Company logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 760.58 million worth of shares traded. Next were Ngadi Group Power Ltd and Sanima Mai Hydropower Company Ltd with turnovers of Rs 556.28 million and Rs 485.48 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, three posted nominal gains, while 10 others ended the session in the red. The biggest loss came from the Trading sub-index, which was down by 1.13%.
Total turnover fell to Rs 7.63 billion on Monday with 18.43 million units of shares traded through 65,884 transactions.
