KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) snapped a three-day winning run, closing trading 14.08 points lower at 2,715.91 points on Tuesday.
Share prices of 162 companies declined during the session, while 71 advanced and nine remained unchanged. NRN Infrastructure & Development continued to lead the chart of highest turnovers with Rs 308.71 million worth of securities traded on Tuesday. Next were Nepal Reinsurance Company Ltd and Himalaya Urja Bikas Company Ltd with turnovers of Rs 268.45 million and Rs 254.06 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, two – Others and Hydropower – sub-indices posted nominal gains, while 11 others ended the session in the red. The biggest loss came from the Development Bank sub-index, which was down by 2.6%. Market heavyweight Banking sub-index fell 0.57%.
Daily turnover fell to Rs 8.91 billion on Tuesday, with 16.91 million units of securities traded through 90,202 transactions.
