
KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index snapped a four-day losing streak, closing 23.19 points higher at 2,653.09 on Monday.
The benchmark index moved in a positive trajectory right after trading began and maintained momentum throughout the session.
Total turnover, however, dipped slightly to Rs 8.68 billion, with 17.5 million units of securities traded through 78,848 transactions.
Unit prices of 191 scrips advanced during the session, while 56 declined and one remained unchanged. Radhi Bidyut Company Ltd recorded the highest turnover of the day, with shares worth Rs 622.8 million traded. Universal Power Company Ltd and Butwal Power Company Ltd were next with turnovers of Rs 549.51 million and Rs 513.5 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, three posted losses, while the remaining 10 ended the session in the green. The Other sub-index logged the highest gain at 2.63%, followed by Hydropower and Investment which were up by 2.35% and 1.14%, respectively.
