KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) posted a nominal gain of 5.63 points and ended the week’s trading at 1,966.23 points on Thursday.
Share prices of 115 companies increased on the day, while the same number of companies witnessed a drop in their share prices, and four companies remained unchanged.
Except for Life Insurance, Manufacturing & Processing, and Microfinance, all other sub-indices posted gains on the day. The highest gain came from the Hotels & Tourism sub-index, which was up by 6.96%. All other sub-indices posted nominal gains.
Nepal Finance Ltd logged the highest turnover of the day with shares worth Rs 169.71 million traded. Next were Soaltee Hotel Ltd and First Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd with turnovers of Rs 144.79 million and Rs 96.64 million, respectively.
The daily turnover improved to Rs 3.12 billion with 7.05 million units of shares traded through 49,332 transactions. The total market capitalization reached Rs 3.11 trillion on Thursday.
