KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index fell by 16.82 points to end the second trading day of the week at 2,006.52 points on Monday.
Although the market posted nominal gains initially, it erased all the gains as the day progressed to ultimately end the session 0.83% lower.
Unit prices of 184 scrips declined on the day while 52 advanced and eight remained unchanged. Ngadi Group Power Ltd logged the highest turnover of the day with Rs 177.36 million worth of shares traded. Next were CYC Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd and Sanima Mai Hydropower Ltd with turnovers of Rs 77.02 million and Rs 69.18 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, all the sub-indices ended the day in the red. The biggest loss came from the Finance sub-index which was down by 1.64%. Next were Manufacturing & Processing and Others sub-indices with losses of 1.59% and 1.38%, respectively.
Shares worth Rs 2.79 billion were traded on the bourse on Wednesday, while market capitalization reached Rs 3.18 trillion.
