KATHMANDU: Nepal will play its first tri-series of the ICC World Cup League (WCL) 2 at home.
According to the Cricket Association of Nepal, Nepal will host Namibia and the Netherlands in February. However, it hasn’t fixed the dates.
The ICC World Cup League 2, which will be played over three years till 2027, features eight teams – Nepal, the Netherlands, Namibia, Scotland, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, USA, and Canada.
Canada was promoted to League 2 after winning League 3, while Papua New Guinea was relegated from League 2 in the 2019-2023 season.
Scotland won the League 2 played between 2019 and 2023. Nepal finished third in the league, winning 11 of its last 12 matches, and claimed the last automatic spot at the Cricket World Cup Qualifier.
