Nepal, Hong Kong T20I washed away by rain

KATHMANDU: Nepal and Hong Kong shared the spoils as the first match of the Hong Kong Men’s T20I Tri-Nation Series at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong was washed away by rain on Sunday.

Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Hong Kong scored 65 runs for the loss of two wickets in eight overs when rain interrupted the play. Martin Coetzee was out for a golden duck, while captain Nizakat Khan scored 25 off 20 balls before he was bowled by Gulsan Jha. Anshy Rath and Babar Hayat were at the crease when rain arrived with 36 and 3 runs, respectively.

Karan KC and Gulsan took a wicket each for Nepal.

Hong Kong defeated Nepal by 73 runs in a friendly on Saturday.

Nepal is scheduled to play its second match of the series against Papua New Guinea on Tuesday.
