NC unveils 10 visions in its election manifesto

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) unveiled its ‘Commitment Document’, its election manifesto for the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5, amid a mass gathering in Janakpurdham on Wednesday.

Party President Gagan Kumar Thapa, Vice President and Election Mobilization Committee Coordinator Bishwo Prakash Sharma, Vice President Pushpa Bhusal, Madhesh Province Committee President Krishna Prasad Yadav, among other leaders, unveiled the document.

Following the unveiling in Janakpurdham, the NC Central Party Office organized a press conference in Sanepa to brief the media on the 10 key points outlined under its “Vision 10″. The party stated that it aims to form a democratic government with a majority mandate, dedicated to public welfare.

Party Spokesperson Devraj Chalise claimed that the NC has presented a commitment document grounded in a clear sense of responsibility, vision, and determination—complete with a roadmap and foundation to make Nepal one of the world’s finest countries. He said every word in the document carries a clear meaning.

According to him, the party wants its performance to be evaluated based on the implementation of the plans outlined in the commitment document. The NC has put forward plans ranging from ensuring a Nepal where people can live with dignity to a Nepal advancing toward prosperity. It has pledged not merely to showcase the document, but to implement it in practice.

The party has described the Vision 10 document as the foundation of Nepali Congress 2.0.

The 10 Visions Outlined by the party:

1. A Nepal where people can live with dignity
2. A Nepal where people can dream
3. A Nepal that promotes wealth and job creation
4. A Nepal of farmers who feed the nation and represent it proudly
5. A Nepal that provides medicine and shelter
6. A Nepal where educating children is not an economic burden
7. A Nepal governed by rule of law, free from irregularities and harassment
8. A modern Nepal proud of its originality
9. A self-respecting Nepal honored by the world
10. A Nepal advancing toward prosperity
