NC picks three to join Karnali Province Government

SURKHET: Nepali Congress (NC) has submitted the names of three members of the Provincial Assembly to join the Karnali Province Government to Chief Minister Raj Kumar Sharma. Jivan Bahadur Shahi, NC’s parliamentary party leader in the Karnali Province Assembly, handed over the names to Chief Minister Sharma on Tuesday.

According to the Shahi, the party has decided to send Khadak Bahadur Pokharel, Bedraj Singh, and Krishna Kumar BC will be sent to the province cabinet. Pokharel, Singh, and BC were elected from Surkhet 1(A), Jajarkot 1(A), and Dailekh 1(B) constituencies, respectively.

Pokharel is expected to become the province’s next Minister for Social Development, while Singh and BC will hold portfolios for Economic Affairs and Planning, and Industry, Tourism, Forest, and Environment, respectively.

Maoist Center and the Nepali Congress have agreed to lead the province government by turns. This means Jivan Bahadur Shahi of NC will become the Chief Minister of Karnlai after two and half years.
