NC organizing demonstration against home minister Lamichhane on Friday

KATHMANDU: The main opposition Nepali Congress has decided to take to the streets to exert pressure for a parliamentary probe into cooperative fraud allegations against Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.

The ongoing joint meeting of NC’s central working committee and the parliamentary party held on Wednesday decided to organize a Kathmandu-centric demonstration on Friday.

Likewise, the meeting also decided to mobilize its sister organizations, including the Nepal Students Union, Nepal Tarun Dal, Nepal Women’s Association, in the protest. The meeting also decided to invite heads of the party’s sister organizations to attend the joint meeting.

Talking to reporters, Dila Sangraula, a central working committee member, said further protest programs outside the valley would be launched as per the need.
