KATHMANDU: The Central Working Committee meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) began in Lalitpur on Thursday.

Min Bahadur Bishwakarma, chief of the NC’s Publicity Department, said six agendas have been set for the central working committee meeting. According to Bishwakarma, the central working committee will review the performance of the coalition government, assess the party’s organizational activities, discuss the ongoing preparation for the upcoming Mahasamiti meeting and the program to commemorate National Reconciliation Day scheduled for next week, the upcoming National Assembly election, and the upcoming ‘NC with the Community’ program.

NC’s ministers in the government are also scheduled to brief the central working committee about their work performance. Minister for Health and Population Mohan Basnet briefed the central working committee about the performance of his ministry on Thursday.

Central committee members Dilendra Prasad Badu, Krishnachandra Nepali Pokharel, Deepak Giri, Min Bahadur Bishwakarma, Mohan Bahadur Basnet, Devendra Raj Kandel, Dr. Dila Sangraula, Karna Bahadur Budha, Rajiv Koirala, Nain Singh Mahar, Mukta Kumari Yadav, Rangamati Shahi, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Bharat Kumar Sah, and Sita Devi Devkota put forth their views on Thursday.

“The leaders, who spoke on Thursday, have complained about the slow activities of the party and suggested that the party should be more dynamic,” Bishwakarma said. “Issues of cooperative fraud have also been raised.”

NC hasn’t broadcast its central working committee meeting live this time. Although most of the leaders had praised the party’s decision to broadcast the previous central working committee meeting live, some leaders had said that the meeting shouldn’t be broadcast live.

The central working committee meeting will resume at 11 am on Friday.
