NC holds conventions in more than 6,000 wards Nepali Congress Central Party Office

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) on Sunday said that it had completed ward-level conventions and elections in more than 6,000 wards across 73 districts as part of its 15th General Convention.

The party said it successfully held elections in 6,132 wards across 73 districts on Saturday and Sunday.

The ward conventions were scheduled for Saturday and Sunday under the party’s 15th General Convention. The conventions elected ward committees and regional representatives.

Conventions were successfully held at 3,396 wards across 43 districts on Saturday, according to NC.

Raju Katuwal, member-secretary of the NC’s Central Election Committee, said ward conventions were held in Taplejung, Panchthar, Ilam, Sankhuwasabha, Tehrathum, Dhankuta, Bhojpur, Khotang, Solukhumbu, Okhaldhunga, Udayapur, Jhapa, Morang (except Constituency No. 6), Sunsari, Saptari (except Constituencies Nos. 2 and 4), Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi (except Constituency No. 2), Rautahat (except Constituency No. 1), Bara, Parsa, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Sindhuli, Kavrepalanchok, Sindhupalchok, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Gorkha, Lamjung, Tanahun, Kaski, Manang, Mustang, Parbat, Syangja, Myagdi, Baglung, Nawalpur, Parasi (except Constituency No. 2), Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Palpa, Arghakhanchi, Gulmi, Rukum East, Rolpa, Pyuthan, Dang, Banke, Bardiya, Rukum West, Salyan, Dolpa, Jumla, Mugu, Humla, Kalikot, Jajarkot, Dailekh, Surkhet, Bajura, Bajhang, Doti, Achham, Darchula, Baitadi, Dadeldhura, Kanchanpur and Kailali.

Katuwal said the conventions in the remaining wards would be completed on Monday.

He added that ward conventions in flood-hit Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading districts would be held later.
