KATHMANDU: Lawmakers from Nepali Congress (NC) are voting to elect their parliamentary party in the House of Representatives on Friday.
According to the election schedule published by a committee formed by the party to oversee the election process, candidates can file their nominations at 3:00 pm, while they can withdraw their nominations until 4:30 pm. If there is more than one nominee, voting will be held at 5:00 pm.
NC, which has 38 members in the lower house, has failed to reach a consensus on the parliamentary party leader.
Lawmakers like Arjun Narasingh KC, Bhishmaraj Angdembe, Mohan Acharya, Nischal Rai, and Basana Thapa have shown interest in contesting the election, according to party leaders.
