KATHMANDU: Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has suspended seven personnel of the state-owned Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) for flying overweight.
The aviation regulator took the decision after it found NAC’s Twin Otter aircraft with registration 9N-ABT that flew to Kathmandu from Taplejung on Monday carrying 48 kg extra load. Also, the airline company was found falsely recording one male passenger as a female passenger.
Those receiving CAAN suspension includes crew members, flight dispatcher and ground staff of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) in Taplejung.
CAAN has sought clarification from the NAC.
CAAN has suspended involved crew, flight dispatcher and Taplejung airport ground staff of Nepal Airlines until further notice for flying overweight (48kg extra) and falsely recording one male passenger as female in Taplejung-Kathmandu flight on 20th March, 2023.
