KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has opened applications to fill ambassadorial vacancies in 17 Nepali diplomatic missions abroad, including key postings in India, China, the United States and the United Kingdom.
The ministry on Thursday issued a public call for applications along with detailed terms of reference, introducing for the first time an open competitive model for ambassadorial appointments. Interested Nepali citizens can apply by June 5.
The ambassadorial posts became vacant after the interim government led by Sushila Karki and the current government headed by Prime Minister Balendra Shah recalled envoys appointed by the previous government led by KP Sharma Oli.
