SURKHET: Mock voting has been conducted at eight local units of Surkhet ahead of the election for the House of Representatives and province assemblies.

Karnali Province Election Office, Surkhet, said the mock voting was organized to make voters education more effective.

Mock voting has been organized in all local units of Surkhet except Barahatal Rural Municipality.

According to the office, mocking voting has been conducted in Simta, Chingad and Chaukune rural municipalities, and Gurbhakot, Bheriganga, Panchapuri, Lokbesi and Birendranagar municipalities. Mock voting will be conducted in Barahatal Rural Municipality on Wednesday, according to the office.

Durga Prasad Chalise, information officer at the office, said 52 people participated in mock voting at Birendranagar Municipality. Of them, four votes were spoiled. Total spoiled votes in the district stand at around 7%.
