KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Rabi Lamichhane has said that misgovernance and irregularities will end permanently after the elections.

Addressing a mass gathering organized by the party in Dhangadhi on Wednesday, Lamichhane said that the long-standing practice of entangling people’s rights and issues for years, along with other forms of poor governance and disorder, would come to a permanent end.

He said March 5 would not only be a day to cast votes but also a day to write history. “The era in which people’s rights were reduced to mere words in election manifestos every cycle will now end,” Lamichhane said. “The RSP will ensure those demands and rights are fulfilled.”

He said the existing situation, where people cast votes, leaders make promises, and ultimately the same voters bear the consequences, would no longer continue in Nepal. Lamichhane urged people to participate in transforming the country, stating that the RSP was formed with the nation’s political hopes and aspirations at its core.

Similarly, senior RSP leader Balen Shah said he had come to Sudurpaschim not to seek votes but to seek work. “Even if the people of Sudurpaschim did not vote for us, we will still connect the region firmly with the rest of the country,” he added. “If the RSP comes to power, it will build a path that all Nepalis, including those from the Nepali Congress, UML, and the Nepali Communist Party, can walk together.”
