Maoist Center, Unified Socialist merger on Nov 6

KATHMANDU: The CPN (Maoist Centre) and the CPN (Unified Socialist) are set to officially announce their party unification on November 6.

Following the Secretariat meeting of the Maoist Center on Sunday, party spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota said that all preparations have been completed for the joint Central Committee meeting of both parties to be held on November 6 to make the formal merger announcement.

“It has been decided that the joint Central Committee meeting of the parties joining the unification process, including the Unified Socialist, will be held on Kartik 20,” Sapkota said. “The formal announcement of the party unification will be made after that meeting.”

Unified Socialist made a formal decision to undergo a merger with the Maoist Center and like-minded leftist parties on Friday.
