Manisha Koirala to campaign for RPP

KATHMANDU: Actress Manisha Koirala has announced that she would campaign for Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) in the upcoming elections for the House of Representatives and province assemblies.

Writing a post on her Facebook page, Manisha said she is taking a break from her busy schedule and heading home to participate in the election campaign in favor of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).

She also praised RPP’s chairman Rajendra Lingden, terming him ‘young, dynamic and visionary leader’. “His understanding of nationalism and the country’s historic and cultural legacy puts him above other contemporary politicians in the country,” Koirala wrote.

Stating that she was inspired in politics and national duty by her grandfather – former prime minister late BP Koirala, she said: “The country needs monarchy as its guardian and a vibrant nationalist party that cares for people’s socioeconomic upliftment under a democratic framework.”
