KATHMANDU: A man killed his father-in-law with a sharp weapon in Dhanusha on Wednesday morning.
According to the District Police Office, Dhanusha, Basudev Prasad Bimal (65) was murdered at his home in Kuawarampur, Janakpurdham-15, on Wednesday morning.
“Preliminary investigation shows Bimal was killed by his son-in-law, Bechan Mahaseth, from Kurtha in Janakpurdham-29,” said DSP Barun Bahadur Singh at the District Police Office, Dhanusha, said. “A land dispute between the two escalated into the crime.”
Basudev was rushed to the hospital after Bechan stabbed him in the stomach with a knife. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Madhesh Provincial Hospital in Janakpur.
Bechan is currently absconding.
Police have launched an investigation into the case.
