JANAKPURDHAM: The Madhes Province Government has changed the name of different ministries.
The cabinet meeting held on Tuesday decided that the province government will have 11 ministries – Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Minister for Energy, Irrigation and Water Supply, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Communication and Law, Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, Ministry of Forest and Environment, Ministry of Education and Social Welfare, Ministry of Health and Population and Ministry of Labor and Transport.
The changes were made by revising the Allocation of Business (Classification) Rules, 2023, according to Nurhari Khatiwada, Secretary of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers. “The changes were made as the name of some ministries were longer, and also looking irrelevant,” he added.
The changes, however, has yet to be authenticated by the Province Chief.
