The leadership of House committees could be elected after major political parties in the province assembly reached an understanding to share the seven House committees among themselves. As per the understanding, CPN-UML has got the leadership of three committees, while Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN (Maoist Cener) have got two each.
UML’s Ramji Prasad Ghimire has been elected as the chairperson of the Physical Infrastructure Development Committee, while Raju Prasad Shrestha will lead the Finance, Industry and Tourism Committee and Giridhari Lal has been chosen as the chairperson of the Committee of Privileges.
Similarly, Maoist Center’s Dil Kumar Budha has been elected as the chairperson of the Provincial Affairs and Law Committee, while Yam Bahadur Nepali has been chosen as the chairperson of the Social Development Committee.
