KATHMANDU: Sandeep Lamichhane, who has been accused of raping a minor, has been included in the Nepali squad for a World Cricket League-2 tri-series against Namibia and Scotland.
Lamichhane has been accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl at a Kathmandu hotel on August 21. The girl filed a rape case against Lamichhane on September 6.
The former national team captain was initially sent to judicial custody by the Kathmandu District Court but was released on bail by the Patan High Court on January 12.
Cricket Association Nepal (CAN) decided to lift the suspension on Lamichhane before the high court pronounced its final verdict.
Nepal will play its first game against Namibia on February 17. It will then play Scotland on February 17, Nambiia on February 18, and Scotland on February 21.
