KATHMANDU: Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has decided to send leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane as as replacement for injured Mousam Dhakal.

CAN said in a tweet post on Wednesday that Dhakal was injured during net practice.

According to CAN, Lamichhane left for Dubai at 4 pm on a FlyDubai flight.

Lamichhane has been accused of raping a minor girl at a Kathmandu hotel on August 21 last year. Patan High Court released him on bail on January 13. The court, however, had prevented him from leaving the country.

After Lamichhane filed an application at the Supreme Court to allow him leave the country to play for the national team, the apex court on Sunday lifted foreign travel restrictions but ordered Lamichhane to be present before Kathmandu District Court within 15 days of the end of the tournament.

Nepal is playing against UAE and Papua New Guinea in the tri-series.
