KATHMANDU: The water pipe of the bulk distribution system in Babarmahal, which was damaged during ‘horizontal drilling’ by Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) while laying electric cables underground, for underground electrical wiring, was repaired on Wednesday.
Ashok Kumar Poudel, the CEO of Kathmandu Valley Water Limited (KUKL), said the bulk distribution system pipe was repaired after approximately 20 hours.
“Repair work was initiated on Wednesday night as per the direction of the Minister for Water Supply. The repair has been completed after about 20 hours. We will begin distributing water through the pipeline very soon,” he added.
Minister Yadav said on Wednesday that the pipe burst due to a lack of coordination by the NEA.
