ITAHARI: Three ministers of Koshi Province Government, who were sworn in about a month ago, have finally been assigned portfolios.
Issuing a statement on Sunday, the Office of the Province Chief announced that Shamsher Rai of Nepali Congress has been assigned the internal affairs and law portfolio, while Ganesh Prasad Upreti of CPN (Maoist Center) has been given charge of the tourism, forest, and environment ministry, and Kamal Prasad Jabegu of CPN (Unified Socialist) has been given the responsibility of the physical infrastructure development ministry on the recommendation of Chief Minister Kedar Karki.
Chief Minister Karki, who assumed office on October 14, had appointed Shamsher Rai of Nepali Congress and Ram Rana of CPN-UML on the same day. Similarly, he inducted Upreti and Jabegu into his cabinet on November 3.
Rana, meanwhile, has tendered his resignation after his party decided to exit the government.
Chief Minister Karki has kept other ministries with him.
