ITAHARI: The Koshi Province Government has provided Rs 100,000 each as a relief to families of children who lost their lives in a fire at Piple in Hatuwagadhi-7 of Bhojpur.
A team led by Chief Minister Kedar Karki reached the houses of the two affected families and handed over the relief amount on Tuesday. “The province government is your nearest government. It is always with the people in the hour of need,” he added.
Koshi Province Assembly members from Bhojpur, Binod Bantawa Rai, and Sirjana Rai, along with the secretary of the Internal Affairs and Law Ministry of Koshi Province, Laxmi Prasad Poudel, among other officials were present on the occasion.
Ramesh Karki’s daughter Deepshikha (5) and son Deunish (3) and Kedar Karki’s son Pranish (4) died in the fire at Patlepani in Hatuwagadhi-7 of Bhojpur on March 16.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Karki has appealed to the people to be cautious as incidents of fire remain high in this season. “Incidents of fire can be avoided by not keeping inflammable objects near children, dousing fire completely after completing the work, cautiously using LPG and electrical appliances, and not starting forest fires,” he said in the message.
He also requested people to become responsible citizens by dialing 100 for police and 101 for fire engines if incidents of fire occur near them.
