KATHMANDU: Koshi Province Government has allocated Rs 20 million for the construction of a truck parking facility in Biratnagar.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law made the allocations from its budget for fiscal year 2024/25 as per the proposal of the Nepal Truck Entrepreneurs Committee.
The fund will be used to build the parking facility on land owned by the committee in Budhiganga Rural Municipality of Morang.
The committee and the province government have also reached an understanding to share the revenue from the parking facility. According to the agreement, a parking fee of Rs 100 will be levied on trucks using the facility. Of this amount, Rs 40 will go to the provincial government, while Rs 60 will be used for the management of the parking facility, according to a statement issued by the committee.
