ITAHARI: The Koshi Province Government has formed a committee to hold talks with pro-identity activists in the province.
The committee has been formed to hold talks with the Province 1 Re-naming Joint Struggle Committee which has been staging protests in the province since March.
A meeting of the province cabinet held on Thursday formed a three-member committee under Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Ram Bahadur Magar, according to Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Koshi Province Government, Rebati Raman Bhandari.
Bhandari and Minister for Physical Infrastructure Developmet Bhupendra Rai are the other members in the committee.
“There are various community, identity or ethnic issues that have arisen or may arise in the future in the province. To address these issues through discussions and negotiations in accordance with the constitution and law, the government has formed this three-member committee,” Minister Bhandari said.
