KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Shisir Khanal is leaving for Fiji on Saturday to attend the Pre-COP 31 meeting.
Khanal is leading a Nepali delegation to the event scheduled to be held in Fiji and Tuvalu on October 5-6. According to the ministry, Khanal will address the Leaders’ Plenary on October 6.
Before the plenary, he will participate in a media Q&A session alongside the President of Palau and the prime ministers of Australia and Fiji.
Following the Pre-COP event, Khanal will travel to Australia, where he is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with his Australian counterpart Penny Wong on October 8.
During his visit to Australia, Khanal will also participate in separate programs organised by the Embassy of Nepal in Canberra and the Nepali diaspora in Sydney.
The foreign minister is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on October 12.
