KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has reduced prices of diesel and kerosene by Rs 10 liter per liter each.
The decision means diesel and kerosene will retail at Rs 155 per liter each from Monday midnight.
The board of directors of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) held in Kathmandu on Tuesday took the decision to this extent.
The petroleum monopolist, however, has kept the prices of petrol, aviation turbine fuel (ATF) and liquefied petroleum (LP) gas unchanged. Petrol is currently available for Rs 175 per liter, while LP gas retails at Rs 1,800 per cylinder, and ATF costs Rs 160 per liter for domestic carriers and $1.35 per liter for international carriers.
“Although it is challenging for the NOC to repay the government loans and clear outstanding dues with the Indian Oil Corporation, NOC decided to lower the price rates considering consumer’s interest,” NOC said in a statement.
