KATHMANDU: Rastriya Janamorcha Nepal (RJM) lawmaker Chitra Bahadur KC has said there is no alternative to scrapping provinces.
Speaking in the House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday, KC said ministers of province governments, where billions of rupees have been spent, were useless. “Provinces were created based on political consensus. It should be scrapped by reaching a similar consensus,” he added. “Nothing has been achieved except for power games and frequent changes in government.”
He also said representatives of local governments are protesting in Kathmandu after the federal government violated agreements on several infrastructure projects. “This is an act of dishonesty,” he added.
KC also expressed objection to the Prime Minsiter and the Attorney General for giving ‘clean chit’ to the persons involved in cooperative fraud.
