KATHMANDU: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Prakash Jwala, has said that there is a deliberate plot to frame CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal in the Lalita Niwas land grab case.

Speaking at a program held in Kathmandu on Friday, Jwala contended that it is implausible for anyone around the world to believe that Madhav Kumar Nepal is engaged in corrupt activities. “There’s a concerted effort to embroil our party president in the Lalita Niwas land scandal. It’s inconceivable that Madhav Nepal is involved in corruption. Possibly, among contemporary leaders, there isn’t a figure with a more untarnished reputation in everything other than Nepal,” he said. “While Madhav Nepal isn’t flawless in every aspect, his integrity is beyond reproach.”

According to Jwala, people won’t accept such accusations, even if the court finds him guilty or oversight agencies declare it. “Whether it’s the court’s verdict, anyone else’s opinion, or the pronouncement of oversight agencies, the people won’t buy into it,” he added.

Minister Jwala also said that there is a ploy to weaken the Unified Socialist by targeting Madhav Nepal with accusations.
