JSP lawmaker Karki appointed minister of state

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has inducted a Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) lawmaker as a minister of state in his cabinet.

Deepak Karki of JSP has been appointed as the Minister of State for Forest and Environment. Karki was elected to the House of Representatives from Dhanusha-1.

This is the first time that Dahal has expanded his cabinet after forming a new coalition with CPN-UML, Rastriya Swatantra Party, JSP, and CPN (Unified Socialist).

Karki will be administered the oath of office and secrecy at the Office of the Prime Minister later on Monday.
