Jha-led Rastriya Sadbhavana Party merges with NC

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Sadbhavana Party led by Anil Jha has merged with the Nepali Congress (NC).

At a ceremony organized at the Nepali Congress Central Party Office in Sanepa on Sunday, Jha, along with other leaders of the party, formally joined the NC.

NC President Gagan Thapa welcomed Jha and his team into the party.

Although Jha officially merged his party into the NC on Sunday, he had contested the House of Representatives election held on March 5 as an NC candidate.

Jha has long been active in Madhes-centric politics alongside Sadbhavana Party founding leader Gajendra Narayan Singh. In the 2022 elections, he had contested from Dhanusha-3 under the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) led by Mahantha Thakur.

However, after becoming dissatisfied with THakur, Jha had revived the Rastriya Sadbhavana Party under his leadership.
