Minister for Home Affairs Om Prakash Aryal
KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Om Prakash Aryal has said that the investigation into all pending files stalled due to political influence will now move forward.
Talking to journalists after visiting the office of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Nepal Police on Friday, Aryal said obstacles to good governance created by political connections will no longer be tolerated.
“From now on, there will be a breakthrough in every file,” Aryal declared. “Some cases were stalled in the past because of political connections. That will not happen anymore. The mandate of this government is good governance, and without good governance, peace and security are impossible. Without peace and security, the government’s credibility cannot last.”
Aryal said he had already instructed authorities to remove political interference in sensitive cases such as criminal investigations and corruption.
“It was found that some cases were blocked due to political connections. My clear position is that this must end,” he said. “Any form of obstruction to good governance will no longer be acceptable.”
Aryal said that the government would not bow to any influence or pressure in its efforts to establish rule of law and accountability in the country.
