KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has issued an interim order against the government’s decision to remove two board directors of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).
A single bench of Justice Sunil Kumar Pokharel ordered the government not to implement its decision until the final verdict is passed in the case.
Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation removed Kapil Acharya and Bhakta Bahadur Pun from the board of directors of NEA on August 2 and appointed Mahendra Bahadur Gurung and Devendra Karki to the board.
The two had written notes of dissent on the NEA board’s decision to resume power supplies to six industries.
Acharya and Pun had challenged the government’s decision in the apex court.
