Insignia conferred on newly-promoted 20 SSPs

KATHMANDU: Inspector General of the Nepal Police, Basanta Bahadur Kunwar,  has conferred insignia on 20 police officers who were promoted to the rank of Senior Superintendents (SSPs).

At a ceremony organized at the police headquarters on Monday, Kunwar conferred insignia on Bishwa Adhikari, Bhupendra Bahadur Khatri, Sanuram Bhattarai, Om Prasad Adhikari, Shekhar Khanal, Abi Narayan Kafle, Somendra Singh Rathore, Mukunda Marasini, Dip Shamsher JBR, Bel Bahadur Pandey, Dinesh Raj Mainali, Gopal Chandra Bhattarai, Pravin Pokharel, Krishna Bahadur Palli Magar, Bishwa Mani Pokharel, Taradevi Thapa, and Prajwal Maharjan. Additionally, three officers from the technical service – Dr Sangya Malla, Dr Diwas Sharma and Dr Ashish Dutta were also presented with insignia.

Ganga Panta, one of the officers promoted to SSP, was unable to attend the ceremony as she is currently serving in a United Nations mission.

Meanwhile, the police headquarters has initiated preparations to fill the 22 vacant posts of Superintendents (SP) that became available due to the promotion of officers to the rank of SSP. According to police sources, approximately 50 Deputy Superintendents (DSPs) are in the running for the promotion.
