Inebriated man torches his own house in Gulmi

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man on the charge of torching his own house.

According to District Police Office, Gulmi, Rekh Bahadur Pariyar (59) of Rajasthal in Dhurkot Rural Municipality-6 of Gulmi set his own house on fire while under the influence of alcohol on Sunday night.

Police say that Rekh Bahadur would often threaten his neighbors with arson.

“A team led by DSP Shankar Pokharel has arrested Pariyar. He will be prosecuted according to existing laws,” said Shankar Pokhrel, the information officer for the District Police Office, Gulmi.

Meanwhile, the District Administration Office, Gulmi, has provided food and logistics support to Rekh Bahadur’s wife, Sita.
