inDrive launches formal operations in Nepal

KATHMANDU: Ridesharing platform inDrive formally started its operations in Nepal on Monday.

Although the app has been live in Nepal for the past few years, it completed all the formalities only recently. As a result, it was allowing riders to keep all their earnings.

The company announced the launch of its formal operations amid a ceremony on Monday. With this, the company announced it would start deducting 10% of the income of riders as commission. inDrive has roped in IMEPay as its top-up and payment partner.

inDrive announced that it would soon start insuring riders and passengers. Likewise, it also unveiled plans to expand services to Pokhara and Bharatpur in the near future, as well as start cargo service.

Founded by Arsen Tomsky in the remote Russian town of Yakutsk in 2013, inDrive is an international ride-hailing service with more than 200 million downloads operating in more than 700 cities in over 45 countries.
